These are our gaint Adenium Obesum plants, they are 5 to 6 years old Adenium Obesum big plants. This forms our mother stock in producing adenium obesum seeds, in surplus and quality seeds for our Adenium Seedling Production.
These big Adenium Obesum are grown in 3 feet polythene bags. They are fed with vermi compost for every three month. We uproot them yearly once, wash the adenium caudex and shade dry the plants for a month and cut off all the unwanted roots and shoots to get our desired shape.
Each time we uproot the Adenium Obesumplants we find many wonders hidden inside the soil. Each Adenium Obesum Caudex size is about 40 to 60 inches in diameter. Each plant size is about 50 inches height.

First we should understand about adeniums. Adeniums are desert plants, they live in desert. Like other desert plants they store water and nutrients. These plants survive with these nutrients during the long dry seasons. Once again when the rain comes the plant blooms and starts to and store the water and nutrients for its next dry season.
What is Adenium Caudex.
Adenium Caudex are its roots. This is a modified root form which stores the nutrients and water for the the adenium plants. As the plant grows bigger the capacity to store water and nutrients also increases as the year goes by. The main secret is having a big caudex is give your adenium abundant nutrients and report your adenium every year exposing the bigger caudex inside.
Note that if you are not dig your adenium each year and expose the caudex you will not get such big caudex after few years. The main reason is that the caudex tend to rot if any damage is there. This can be man made or
by insects or animals. By exposing the caudex more, they become more hard than staying underground.

The Adenium Obesum caudex size becomes big at the base of the caudex as the adenium grows. We also find new roots coming from the top of the caudex, which was already cut.

The Aenium Obesum Caudex itself is about a feet height. We generally uproot and replant the Aenium Obesum plants exposing more caudex two to three inches height to achive such big Aenium Obesum Caudex.
